Neck Pain/Shoulder Pain/Arm Pain

Lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow, as it has come to be known, is strain or overuse the elbow joint and surrounding tissues. There are many different ways that this can happen.

Neck Problems can be felt in one or more regions of the neck, shoulder or arm. Sometimes neck problems may not even cause neck pain but only be felt in the shoulder or arm.

Shoulder and Arm Pain is pain that radiates along nerves that start in the neck and follow them as they go down past the shoulder to the arm and hand. It may occur in either arm or in both.

It is caused by irritation of the nerve(s), and unfortunately, this can happen from several causes. Finding a remedy is not always straightforward, so getting a chiropractor to assess and diagnose the cause is an important first step to solving this problem.

Frequently Asked Questions

Neck, shoulder, and arm pain can be caused by various factors, including strain due to poor posture, overuse or repetitive movements, injury (such as whiplash), herniated discs, pinched nerves, arthritis, or underlying medical conditions like cervical spondylosis.

You should seek  attention if the pain is severe, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms such as numbness, tingling, weakness, or shooting pain down the arm. Difficulty moving your neck or pain that follows an injury should also be evaluated promptly.

Initially, rest the affected area and avoid activities that worsen the pain. Applying ice packs and gently stretching or massaging the muscles can help alleviate some mild to moderate pain. Maintaining good posture and using ergonomic supports may also be beneficial.

Treatment options depend on the underlying cause of the pain. Common treatments include chiropractic care.

While some causes of neck, shoulder, and arm pain (such as acute injuries) may be challenging to prevent, there are preventive measures you can take. Maintain good posture, avoid prolonged periods of sitting or standing in one position, practice proper lifting techniques, stay physically active with regular exercise, and use ergonomic furniture and tools.
